Light Ash Brown Asian Hair

Being Asian with naturally dark hair its always been difficult to go lighter without bleaching it. Hairdressers are always unwilling or claim they are unable to reach my desired hair colour without bleach. So I decided and brave it and opt for a blonde dye to dye my hair into a light ash brown.

I currently already have light ash brown hair but its been a a couple of months since I've dyed it so have disgusting dark roots. I can nearly say I have ombre hair (anyway it's still kinda in isn't it........).
So I just went to my local drug store to pick up a light ash brown dye. Always look carefully to pick one with the word ash in it. As the ash tone in the dye will tone down the orangeness which is very common to happen when dying dark hair lighter.

I went to my local drugstore and got the Loreal Excellence Creme in 9.1 Light Ash Blonde.

It was a bit scary as i knew I didn't want my hair blonde. So I wisely did a strand test. After I just touch up the roots and this is the end result.

I'm really happy with the result. No more roots :) Although I should of total brushed my hair before this picture!!!! I'm going to keep using this dye to touch up my roots as it blends in nicely with the rest of my hair colour. I find touching up the roots regularly is less damaging than dying the whole head all the time!

I hope this helps for people who has dark hair wanting to achieve a lighter shade!!!

3CE: Energy Mist

3CE has been coming out with lots of on trend and exciting make up and skincare. Recently they launch the Energy Mist which is one of their 3 new facial mist launches. The other include Glamour Mist and Honey Water Mist.

Facial mist are becoming more and more popular. I first encountered it when I was watching Secret Garden!! The actresses where all spraying facial mist so I went online to purchase my first facial mist. It just seemed like such a fun and refreshing concept. Facial mist are sprays which contains nutrients for the skin which can calm, soothe, refresh and replenish the skin. They can be quite handy to pack in your handbag during a hot summers days or just for refreshing your make up.

3CE Energy Mist is different from other facial mist as it has a gel like formula. It claims to contain fermented vitamin sorghun and hyaluronic acid. When sprayed on the face it gives a really cool and refreshing sensation as with any other facial spray but as the moisture becomes absorbed into the skin, the skin immediately looks more hydrated and plumper. My pores appear more refined and my skin appears nice and dewy. When used after make up as a setting spray it gives a really natural glow without looking oily. I really like the natural dewy finish this mist gives. It is especially good for using throughout the day or when your skin appears dull. There is not much scent to the product just a little fragrance but I feel like the scent is very soothing and relaxing.

                    Before                                                                 After

I like to use the spray to set my make up as it gives a dewy finish. It also makes my foundation/ bb cream appear more thin and close to the skin giving a natural (no make up) look. For mid day touch up I blot my face with blotting sheets as I have oily skin then use this spray. Sometimes I apply some press powder on top and I'm ready to go again.

The only con I have about this product is the spray. I don't feel like the spray 'mist'. I feel like if the spray sprays more like a mist the product would be perfect. Its not a bad spray just need a few sprays at different angles to cover all areas of the face.

All and all I like the jelly texture of this spray and it provides a promising result for the skin. It's especially good for individuals who suffer from dry/ dull skin. If you are looking for a good facial mist I highly rate this mist.

DIY Oatmeal Mask

What's as good to the skin as natural ingredients which can be found straight from your kitchen. These are free from chemicals and perservatives. Oatmeal is one ingredient that is cheap and effective in getting healthy glowing skin. Oatmeal acts as a gentle cleanser with an ability to relieve red, itchy irritated skin and can remove unwanted dirt and impurities from the skin.

In this DIY oatmeal mask you will need:-
  • Oatmeal 2tsp
  • Natural yoghurt 2 tsp
  • Honey 1/4 tsp
  • Apple cider vinegar (optional)

Natural yoghurt contains lactic acid which acts as a natural exfoliate combatting dull and dry skin. It also has high hydrating properties which leaves the skin feeling moist and subtle. With the addition of honey the moisturizing factor can be heightened with an added benefit of lightening. Honey can lighten scars and has a healing propety which can accelerate the rate of healthy new skin.

This mask is suitable for all skintype as the oatmeal is very gentle making it suitable for sensitve skin but at the same time can combat problematic issues without being drying. For those who doesn't suffer from sensitive skin can also add a few drops of apple cider vinegar. This can increase the effectiveness of the masks by acting as a peel. ACV can also help combat acne and wrinkles.

3CE: Waterful Concealer

Concealer can be a life saver at many times as it can be used to cover blemishes, dark circles and imperfections. It has a similar usuage to foundation but thicker giving a higher coverage hiding pigmentation and blending imperfection to the surrounding skin tone.

The 3 Concept Eyes Waterful Concealer claims to "Excellently adheres to the skin, keeping it fresh and moist for long hours. It is effective in hiding dark circles and other skin flaws."

3CE Waterful Concealer is available in 2 shades #001 and #002. The product is in a squeezy tube, which is very hygienic and convenient to use. The small size make it very handy to carry around, for people who like to do touch up throughout their day.

Concealer in #001

When squeezed out the tube it gives a fairly thick consistency but when blended out with the fingers it glides very readily into a water base texture. Although it turns into a watery texture the coverage is still very high and the moist texture avoids it caking up. Even with a heavy handed application little cakey-ness is experienced. Dark circles can be minimise with no over drying and does not affect your make up. Spots and scars can be covered very well with no aggravation of the spots.

The concealer can be applied straight onto the skin with a small brush but I like to use my fingers after I've applied my foundation/ BB cream. I find using my finger more effective as the product can warm up between my fingers causing the application of the product to be more close to the skin giving a more natural finish.

No make up, as you can see my dark circles are very dark and suffering from a few breakouts and scars especially on my forehead area

With BB cream, skin is more even but dark circles are still very predominant and scars are still to be seen

Looking slightly less zombie and more humane with less dark circles, spots and scars on the fore head is less visible.

With full face make up. Spots are hardly visible. YAYY!! Dark circles are reduced but I added a little puffy eye bag aegyo-sal look which is very popular in Korea at the moment. Even though the concealer is a watery base texture it does not slip and slide throughout the day, even in hot humid whether like Hong Kong (tried and tested ;) ). It doesn't crease or cause my mascara to run. No panda eyes experienced. I set my face with a little powder, making sure not the overdue it as I like to achieve the healthy dewy look, especially now as it is summer. With dewy foundation and now dewy concealer this look is easily achieved.

I really like this product definitely my favourite concealer. I've always been conscious of my dark circles that I've inherited from my mother. But with this waterful concealer I've managed to minimise them a lot compared to other concealers I've tried. The coverage is extremely high for the amount of product needed, therefore you can achieve a very natural look.

The only downside is there is not enough product in the tube, only 10 ml and the product can look a bit gloopy inside the tube but this factor does not affect the performance of the product . All in all I highly rate this product and recommend anyone who is looking for a good concealer especially people suffering from dark circles.
