Light Ash Brown Asian Hair

Being Asian with naturally dark hair its always been difficult to go lighter without bleaching it. Hairdressers are always unwilling or claim they are unable to reach my desired hair colour without bleach. So I decided and brave it and opt for a blonde dye to dye my hair into a light ash brown.

I currently already have light ash brown hair but its been a a couple of months since I've dyed it so have disgusting dark roots. I can nearly say I have ombre hair (anyway it's still kinda in isn't it........).
So I just went to my local drug store to pick up a light ash brown dye. Always look carefully to pick one with the word ash in it. As the ash tone in the dye will tone down the orangeness which is very common to happen when dying dark hair lighter.

I went to my local drugstore and got the Loreal Excellence Creme in 9.1 Light Ash Blonde.

It was a bit scary as i knew I didn't want my hair blonde. So I wisely did a strand test. After I just touch up the roots and this is the end result.

I'm really happy with the result. No more roots :) Although I should of total brushed my hair before this picture!!!! I'm going to keep using this dye to touch up my roots as it blends in nicely with the rest of my hair colour. I find touching up the roots regularly is less damaging than dying the whole head all the time!

I hope this helps for people who has dark hair wanting to achieve a lighter shade!!!

3CE: Energy Mist

3CE has been coming out with lots of on trend and exciting make up and skincare. Recently they launch the Energy Mist which is one of their 3 new facial mist launches. The other include Glamour Mist and Honey Water Mist.

Facial mist are becoming more and more popular. I first encountered it when I was watching Secret Garden!! The actresses where all spraying facial mist so I went online to purchase my first facial mist. It just seemed like such a fun and refreshing concept. Facial mist are sprays which contains nutrients for the skin which can calm, soothe, refresh and replenish the skin. They can be quite handy to pack in your handbag during a hot summers days or just for refreshing your make up.

3CE Energy Mist is different from other facial mist as it has a gel like formula. It claims to contain fermented vitamin sorghun and hyaluronic acid. When sprayed on the face it gives a really cool and refreshing sensation as with any other facial spray but as the moisture becomes absorbed into the skin, the skin immediately looks more hydrated and plumper. My pores appear more refined and my skin appears nice and dewy. When used after make up as a setting spray it gives a really natural glow without looking oily. I really like the natural dewy finish this mist gives. It is especially good for using throughout the day or when your skin appears dull. There is not much scent to the product just a little fragrance but I feel like the scent is very soothing and relaxing.

                    Before                                                                 After

I like to use the spray to set my make up as it gives a dewy finish. It also makes my foundation/ bb cream appear more thin and close to the skin giving a natural (no make up) look. For mid day touch up I blot my face with blotting sheets as I have oily skin then use this spray. Sometimes I apply some press powder on top and I'm ready to go again.

The only con I have about this product is the spray. I don't feel like the spray 'mist'. I feel like if the spray sprays more like a mist the product would be perfect. Its not a bad spray just need a few sprays at different angles to cover all areas of the face.

All and all I like the jelly texture of this spray and it provides a promising result for the skin. It's especially good for individuals who suffer from dry/ dull skin. If you are looking for a good facial mist I highly rate this mist.

DIY Oatmeal Mask

What's as good to the skin as natural ingredients which can be found straight from your kitchen. These are free from chemicals and perservatives. Oatmeal is one ingredient that is cheap and effective in getting healthy glowing skin. Oatmeal acts as a gentle cleanser with an ability to relieve red, itchy irritated skin and can remove unwanted dirt and impurities from the skin.

In this DIY oatmeal mask you will need:-
  • Oatmeal 2tsp
  • Natural yoghurt 2 tsp
  • Honey 1/4 tsp
  • Apple cider vinegar (optional)

Natural yoghurt contains lactic acid which acts as a natural exfoliate combatting dull and dry skin. It also has high hydrating properties which leaves the skin feeling moist and subtle. With the addition of honey the moisturizing factor can be heightened with an added benefit of lightening. Honey can lighten scars and has a healing propety which can accelerate the rate of healthy new skin.

This mask is suitable for all skintype as the oatmeal is very gentle making it suitable for sensitve skin but at the same time can combat problematic issues without being drying. For those who doesn't suffer from sensitive skin can also add a few drops of apple cider vinegar. This can increase the effectiveness of the masks by acting as a peel. ACV can also help combat acne and wrinkles.

3CE: Waterful Concealer

Concealer can be a life saver at many times as it can be used to cover blemishes, dark circles and imperfections. It has a similar usuage to foundation but thicker giving a higher coverage hiding pigmentation and blending imperfection to the surrounding skin tone.

The 3 Concept Eyes Waterful Concealer claims to "Excellently adheres to the skin, keeping it fresh and moist for long hours. It is effective in hiding dark circles and other skin flaws."

3CE Waterful Concealer is available in 2 shades #001 and #002. The product is in a squeezy tube, which is very hygienic and convenient to use. The small size make it very handy to carry around, for people who like to do touch up throughout their day.

Concealer in #001

When squeezed out the tube it gives a fairly thick consistency but when blended out with the fingers it glides very readily into a water base texture. Although it turns into a watery texture the coverage is still very high and the moist texture avoids it caking up. Even with a heavy handed application little cakey-ness is experienced. Dark circles can be minimise with no over drying and does not affect your make up. Spots and scars can be covered very well with no aggravation of the spots.

The concealer can be applied straight onto the skin with a small brush but I like to use my fingers after I've applied my foundation/ BB cream. I find using my finger more effective as the product can warm up between my fingers causing the application of the product to be more close to the skin giving a more natural finish.

No make up, as you can see my dark circles are very dark and suffering from a few breakouts and scars especially on my forehead area

With BB cream, skin is more even but dark circles are still very predominant and scars are still to be seen

Looking slightly less zombie and more humane with less dark circles, spots and scars on the fore head is less visible.

With full face make up. Spots are hardly visible. YAYY!! Dark circles are reduced but I added a little puffy eye bag aegyo-sal look which is very popular in Korea at the moment. Even though the concealer is a watery base texture it does not slip and slide throughout the day, even in hot humid whether like Hong Kong (tried and tested ;) ). It doesn't crease or cause my mascara to run. No panda eyes experienced. I set my face with a little powder, making sure not the overdue it as I like to achieve the healthy dewy look, especially now as it is summer. With dewy foundation and now dewy concealer this look is easily achieved.

I really like this product definitely my favourite concealer. I've always been conscious of my dark circles that I've inherited from my mother. But with this waterful concealer I've managed to minimise them a lot compared to other concealers I've tried. The coverage is extremely high for the amount of product needed, therefore you can achieve a very natural look.

The only downside is there is not enough product in the tube, only 10 ml and the product can look a bit gloopy inside the tube but this factor does not affect the performance of the product . All in all I highly rate this product and recommend anyone who is looking for a good concealer especially people suffering from dark circles.

Nexcare Acne Patch Review

Last week I actually cried whilst blogging about Hormonal Acne. I don't know whether it was my hormones fluctuating causing me to be so damn emotional or I was losing faith in myself. It just seemed like whatever I did my skin was getting worse. It was on going for 2-3 weeks straight and even had many cystic flare ups (my worse enemy!!!!).

I tried many products and began to lose hope thinking my skin will forever be a hot mess!! It was hard to look in the mirror, therefore a camera was a no go zone. But mid crisis I took this photo below.

This was me every night. The greyish patch was my innisfree volcanic mask covering the new acne and the white patch was sudocrem which I put on healing pimples.

This was definitely not ideal and just when I thought I had things all under control, my hormones was playing up again causing a massive pimple, spanning about >1cm!!!! It was one of them pimple that hurts like a b**** and you cant even squeeze it as it goes so deep down into the skin. I was away to get all teary eyed again, thinking no product will ever solve my problem. But the I remembered I bought the Nexcare Acne Patches.

To be honest with you I didn't have much hope for this product. I know it was highly raved about when I bought it but lots of highly raved about products don't live up to their expectation so I wasn't expecting much.

The Nexcare Acne Patches claim to be :
  • A Hydrocolliod dressing which absorbs secretion and promote the healing of acne
  • The dressing protects the acne from dirt and other contaminant
  • Waterproof and breathable

Directions:
  1. Clean and dry the skin and hands thoroughly
  2. Remove the film at the back of an acne dressing and cover it on the acne. Fix it tightly by pressing on the rim.
  3. Replace when the acne dressing turns white (indicating full absorption of secretion)
  4. Store unused acne dressing in a cool, dry place.

ASDJOKLJHDSXF...................... I WOKE UP AND LITERALLY MY CYST WAS GONE!!!!! I'm not kidding you guys I never had a miracle product like this before. There was a faint mark where the acne was but my skin was flat. No nasty raised up mountain. I'm not sure what's in this absolute beauty of a product but nexcare you have mastered cystic acne. HOORAYYYY!!! It does mention there is ethylene oxide as a active ingredients which I believe will create more oxygen into the area killing the anaerobic acne causing bacteria but at the same time absorbing the pus and creating a moist and clean enviroment for the skin to heal. No over drying was experienced and the area was left to heal without a scar.

So I didn't take a picture of my nasty cysts. Since I was too emotionally horrified but I've got a similar situaion.Ok, please prepare yourself before scrolling down as I have a disgusting pus-y spot :( Cant actually believe I'm posting my spot infested chin here (one of my all time low) but it'll give you a clearer idea of the end result =]

If you suffer from pimples big or small, it definitely worth giving these acne patches a try. They come in all different sizes. I bought the large ones but I'm away to buy some smaller ones for smaller pimples. They prevent you from picking your pimple and provide a good environment for the pimple to heal. The patches work well with new pimple which haven't formed a head too. I'm not sure if these are an ideal choice for consistent cystic sufferers but you could gives these patch a whirl. So get patching up ;)

Hormonal Acne

I've always joked about with my brother "If you could choose would you rather have lots of little spots or a massive spot on your face?" Till this day I still dont know what my answer would be. But there is no choice, life is unfair and you are given what you are given. Sometimes harmones takes over and whatever you do or eat to prevent it, cause more acne.

This is me right now. It's extrememly upsetting and heart breaking to see my what-so-ok looking skin turn into such a mess. My question of having lots of little spots or having one big spot was not a question right now. I wished I had lots of little spots or one massive spot right now. But NO I have the combination of both plus worse. I know a lot of acne sufferers may probably have it way worse but now I have soo many little spots and so many big massive one I feel difficult to even look in the mirror. I cant even feel comfortable in my own house when my family is around and I know I shouldnt feel this way.

I'm literally battling with acne right now at the same time I'm trying to have a positive outlook of things, as I know depression and stress will both have a knockon effect in making acne worse. Happiness is a key to good skin. I've always had a hard time with my skin as it is so acne prone but never has it ever been this bad. Its not even like I have a lot of spots on my chin or have a lots on my forehead. Literally my forehead is covered in acne you cant even count, both my cheeks contain multiple disgusting big spots and my chin is infested in whiteheads. Definitely can say my face is throwing a MAHOOSIVE pimple party!!! (nooooo......!!!! :( )

But what can you do when your eating and drinking well, exercising, have a good skincare, good hygeine, etc. Nothing but continue to be even more healthy, do even more exercise, have a even better skincare routine and think positive.

Come on guys we can do it, we can fight acne. It's going to be a battle we all can win, dont let it take over your life and upset you. Acne tends to get worse before it can get better. So dont worry your not alone one day we can all have clear and manageable skin and this day is very soon ^.^

Think Positive!!!

A Smoothie a Day Keeps the Doctor Away!

No beauty product can do as good as job than what goes into your body. I'm sure you've all heard from now that beauty shines from within. The saying "You are what you eat " is well known now. Although it's ok to eat a bit of unhealthy food every now and then, you always have to do it in moderation and have a healthy balance of good and bad. Your skin and most of all, your health will thank you for this in the present and further along in the future.

But I understand, like me I find it difficult to eat 5 fruit and veg a day. Also I cant find time for it, which is such a lame excuse. But I've discovered an amazing way to indulge on lots of yummy fruits. Which is....... blending them all into a smoothie.

This recipe contains 3 portions of fruit but you wont even know it. Also adding natural yoghurt which is full of probiotic and mixed seed to add extra nutrition to a nutritous drink ;) . Blending them will also help your body absorb the nutrition more readily. Especially the seeds which can be quite hard for the body to digest.

When I have time I usually like to have porridge in the morning then make this smoothie. I feel like a healthy breakfast gives a kickstart to the day and therefore gives me more energy to tackle through the hard day ahead. If your on a diet this is also a good way to lose weight as fruits contain low calories and lots of water, which will fill you up. The sugar present is also all natural which may help with some people with a sweet tooth to satify their cravings.

Ingredients

  • Orange
  • Banana
  • Berries (I use frozen but it's best to have fresh ones)
  • Natural Yoghurt
  • Mixed Seeds
p.s. you can be as creative as you want combining your favourite fruits and/or veg into your smoothie!!!!

Hope you try this recipe and try to incoporate it in your everyday intake. You will definitely see results and if you don't, don't worry it is working from the inside out.

Good things come to those who wait!!

Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

Ever suffered from large clogged pores? Blackheads? Oily skin? Acne.........?  Anyone???? Please tell me I'm not the only one!!! I'm fully aware of my troubled skin so I've search high and low to find a miracle product. In my search I came across an Innisfree store as I caught my eye on Lee Min Ho (sooo cutee!!!!).

Lee Min Ho :)

Anyways he was promoting the Super Volcanic Pore Masks so I thought no further and purchased it. We all know that clay masks has properties of unclogging pores and reducing sebum production but the Super Volcanic Pore mask has proven to be more effective than the average clay mask. This is because it is derived from the beautiful Jeju island of South Korea. The Jeju Volcanic Scoria is a pure and rare ingredient formulated with solidified java caused by volcanic eruptions in Jeju island. It adsorbs impurities and sebum that are deeply embedded within skin pores, clarifying the skin revealing clean, glowing skin underneath. It has a alkalescent characteristic very similiar to our own skin. Which balances the overall pH, inhibiting the growth of bacteria therefore preventing acne to occur!!!

Jeju Volcanic VS Super Volcanic
The Super Volcanic Pore mask is an upgrade from the Jeju Volcanic Pore mask which contains:
  •  Double the amount of Jeju volcanic which helps remove exces sebum
  •  Volcanic capsules which help exfoliates the skin
  •  AHA which gives a gentle chemical peel
  •  Cooling sensation which helps with tightening the pores

 How to use:
  1. Apply to cleansed and toned face
  2. Massage the clay into the skin
  3. Wait for 10-15 minutes
  4. Rinse with warm water
  5. Follow with skincare routine
(Use ~1-2 times a week)

3 ways to use the masks

            Breakouts                                Blackheads                                 Clearing Pores
Cover breakouts overnight               Leave for 10-15 mins                     Leave for 10-15 mins

The texture feels thick and when you massage it onto the skin it gives a cool sensation which is very soothing for the skin. There is small fine particles which are the volcanic capsule that help exfoliate the skin.

It is very easy to apply to the skin, although the mask does not come with a spatula, I did get one free with the purchase I made at Innisfree. When I had the mask on it felt cool and suprisingly moisturising. This was different from the other clay mask I had as they tend to be more on the dry side. Even after 10-15 minutes my mask did not dry and/or crack. But at the same time I felt the dirt being drawn out my skin and my pores felt more purified after I rinsed my face. My skin was very soft and subtle after, with no over drying. I felt other clay mask helped dry out my breakouts but left my skin very dry and tight. The super volcanic doesn't, skin is left hydrated and glowing after use with cleaner and clearer pores. My only con is that the masks is hard to wash off. Although this, it is easier to wash off than regular clay masks.

3CE GT13 Nail Art

I have a CONFESSION to make! This may sound really odd but I HATE painting my nails. I dont know why but I've never enjoyed painting my nails. Maybe because I have shakey hands and a lack of patients!! But my new year resolution this year was to experiment with different nail polishes and start enjoying painting my nails.

Whilst I was in Hong Kong I picked up some 3CE nail polishes. 3CE Nail Lacquer Glitter .2 in GT13 was one of them. I was drawn to this nail polish as soon as I saw it. No wonder, the gold particles reflect so much light and the thinner particles reflect colours of the rainbow. Definitely a nail polish to die for. Without I thought I bought it. The lady at the shop was so nice she showed me images of different ways I could use this nail polish which gave me more of a reason to buy it!

When I got back to the UK I decided to tackle some of these nail art and this the the end result.

I absolutely love it, had soo much compliments from my friends and randoms!!! But they all thought I got it done professionally!!

There is a video available at STYLENANDA which can give you more ideas of how to work these glitter nail laquers.

I will be doing more 3CE reviews on my blog so feel free to come back and check for updates :)

DIY Swarovski Converse

Don't know when but customising converse has always been a big thing. I guess it shows uniquecity and adds a edge to your overall style. Lately swarovski gems have been the IN thing. Decorating the toe cap in gems gives a eye catching but subtle touch to the converse, which can also be very feminine at the same time. Who doesn't want to sparkle and catch eyes whilst walking!!

This blog post I'm going to give you some tips and tricks on how I customised my converses.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional nor skilled in customising converses.

BUT saying this, this was my first attempt, and if I can do it YOU sure can too!! It was actually really simple. These people selling these customised converse are definitely making good money. I would say the first shoe I attempted was not as good as the second pair, as I became more skilled and gained experience.

I'm going to give you guys some tips and tricks on swarosking and turning  your converses into these bad boys ;)

Just a note to add, this took me 2 hours. 1 hour per shoe. So be prepared to give up some time in
creating these. I got complimented so many times today when I was at work though, felt like the hard work paid off!!

What you will need:
-a pair of converse
-swaroski gems
-super glue
-tweezers
-toothpick

I got my converse when I was in HK . They are the white leather Chuck Norris and I got them for $509HKD. The swarovski gem was also bought from HK in the Sham Shui Po area. They are about £3.50 per packet and I bought 4 packets in total. Each packet consist of 144 gems and I ended up with about only 20 gems left. I'm going to keep these as spares incase any of the gems need replaced. Super glue was just bought from the local supermarket and tweezers and toothpick was just found from home.

DIY-ing in a speil:
1. Clean the area before gluing
2. Place glue on the area
3. Use tweezers to pick and place gem
4. Use toothpick to help maneuverer the gem
5. Wait for it to dry

In depth DIY-er tips

Before you start make sure that the toe cap area where we want to glue is clean. How I did it was I worked from the outer top part of the shoe. Make sure to start from the side that is facing outward as this is most important in keeping the gems looking neat and professional. I found it best to work from one side to the other, line by line. Make sure that the first gem of each line is neatly placed and when you reach to the end of the line about 3-4 gem space, space them out closer or wider apart to keep a neat outline edge. Saying this, I don't mean drastically big spaces. For each gem I left a very,
very slight gap. This is optional you can have them placed side by side, gem touching each other, that's no problem at all.

An important tip is to work fast. Once the glue is on the shoe make sure the way the gem is placed is in the desire location. To avoid misplacing, work one gem at a time. Gradually when your confidence of gluing becomes more secure, you can glue 2-4 at a time. I advice not to glue more than 4 at a time as it becomes more difficult to work with, due to the fast drying glue. Also when gluing the start and finish of each line make sure it doesn't go out onto the red outer line of the converse as the glue can be seen when it is dried.

Before starting, have a few practice on a piece of paper to check the texture and viscosity of the glue. The best way to glue is to squeeze a little bit and using the glue tip applicator spread the glue so there is a thin layer. I found this was the best way to work because with a thick application of glue, the glue can spread into the other lines of gem you have placed, creating a mask of glue around the gem causing a matt finish. This can also happen when applying gems. Make sure the tweezers is clean. After about 10 gems clean the tweezers to make sure there is no residue of glue. This can transfer onto the gem whuch causes a lack of shine on the gems. If this happen don't worry. I learnt it the hard way. All that mentioned happened to me!!!! I thought I was doomed. But it can be fixed with a toothpick. I can assure you that these gems are securely glued on. I scrapped the gems with the toothpick and tah-dah the gems were sparkling again and didn't move a inch. So follow the above because scrapping the gems was very time consuming.

Work on a well lit surface and use tweezers to pick up and place the gems and with your other hand use a toothpick to help manuveur the gems to desired location.

Have fun pairing them up with different outfits!! Here I've paired them with frilly socks and cat tights. I'm going to purchase some ribbon or lacey ribbon to change the shoe lace also.

Good luck with customising your converses and have fun. You can be as creative as you want or create the same as mines!!!

Hong Kong/ Korea Beauty Haul

I'M BACKKKK!!!

Long time no speak!! I've just got back from Hong Kong a few days ago! Done soo much, ate soo much, SHOPPED soo much!!! I had a amazing time, didnt want to coome back actually. 3 and a half weeks was definitely not long enough. But you know its time to come home when you've spent all your spending money plus more!!!

Hong Kong is such a beautiful city, definitely a city that never sleeps. Every hour of the day/night is filled with entertainment, there is never a dull moment in this city. Although I've been to Hong Kong many times I feel this time is different. I was ready to explore and discover a new intake of this city. (especially the beauty department ;) ) I even got to meet some HK YouTuber and bloggers!!!

Before I stepped foot onto that plane to HK I spent many hours researching MUST buy Asian products. Definitely not wasting time ;) and even made a shopping list!! When I got there I restrained myself because I knew I was going to Seoul and I've heard it was much cheaper there. My holiday plan was going to HK for 10 days then Seoul 5 days then back HK for 10 days. So the first week I window shopped and kept an idea for prices for products until I got to Korea. But because we were on a tour, we were limited with shopping time (although I did manage to buy a heap) SOO when we got back to HK we meant business, I literally SHOPPED till I DROPPED. Everyday I shopped till my feet would fall off and the only time it was home time was when my hands couldn't hold anymore bags. No jokes I think my arms are more toned now WOOO!! Even a day I went out with no target, planning to buy nothing I came back with a handful!!!! The security guard at my block of flat was always commenting on how much I was buying, was kind of embarrassing lol!!!

But buying all these Asian products in HK is much cheaper than me buying things online from the UK. I also went slightly crazy this time because we were allowed 2 suitcases per person, let me repeat 2 whole suitcases worth up to 46KG!!!! which meant didn't need to watch how much I bought :P So to sum up how crazy I went, I decided to make a video which I had to split into part 1 and 2. Hope you guys enjoy watching me share my buyings ^.^

Doesn't seem that much right.... wait till you see what's inside that brown box...!

Masks Galore :D !!!

For the Chinese reader I also filmed a cantonese version of my haul

p.s. Ill be doing some reviews on the products I have bought later on when I have tested them out :) Make sure to keep checking for updates!!!

p.p.s. due to my vast amount of products I forgot some products SORRRY!! But I really want to show you this :D

Its a PSY face mask!!! It actually works as a 2in1 face mask, a facial sheet mask and the packaging can be worn for fun!!! Now you can all look swag like PSY ;)

Egg-xellent 2 in 1 Mask

Happy Fry-day!!!

Today I'm going to share with you an Egg-stra special mask that can be used on the face and hair. It is egg-specially conveinent for us lazy girls and boys!! Dont be terri-fried with the idea off eggs, this mask can tighten and moisturise the skin and strenghten the hair at the same time.Ok I'll stop cracking these egg jokes and egg-ducate y'all.

Ingredients needed:
  • Egg
  • Coconut Oil

Mask 1
Seperate the egg yolk and egg white into 2 bowls. After cleansing the face with warm water, apply the egg white onto your face. You can use a clean make up brush for easier application. The egg white can cleanse your pores and tighten them to give a smoother appearance. It can also give a instant lifting effect, reducing fine lines and brighten the skin for a glowing complexion. After a few minutes when the mask absorbs into the skin, the face should feel taut. Apply a second layer then rinse off after 10minutes.

Mask 2
After the first mask your pores should be unclogged and excess oil should be removed. It is time to apply the egg yolk onto the face. Egg yolk is a excellent moisturiser and after you should be left with baby soft skin. Again leave mask on for about 10 minutes until the skin feels taut. Whilst your waiting, prepare mask number 3!!!

Mask 3
So whilst your waiting on the yolk to dry on your face. Microwave about a tablespoon of coconut oil in the microwave for about 10 seconds. Then mix the remainders of the egg into it and apply all over dry hair concentrating on the ends. Depending how long your hair is you may need to add an extra egg in your mask. The coconut oil is extrememly moisturising for the hair and the egg will stregthen the hair. Leave for 15-45 minutes and cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic bag to enhance the effciency of this mask.

After you should be left with clean, tightened pores that is soft and glowing; hair that is shiny and soft to touch (it may also increase the growth of your hair!!!) Use this mask once a week and your skin and hair will definitely be thanking you.

How to get Rid of Acne Scars

It's as if having acne wasn't bad enough, now your left with a ugly scar to remind you of the pain you went through whilst that pimple was on your face. GREAT!!

This past month I have been busy reaching deadlines for uni and preparing for exams; my face is throwing a massive pimple party in progress. I have been doing ALL the not-to-do's such as staying up late and  eating late and on top of that not getting enough beauty sleep and stressing out over exams!!! Also I'm indulging in my ultimate weakness Shin Ramen noodles. Whose good at math? Spicy + crazy amount of sodium= pimple alert. You don't have to be Einstein to work that one huh! It's like the best combination for pimples to erupt and explode!! :( Also I've picked a few but shhh... don't tell. ( I'm such a rebel, guess I deserves these scars D: )

No need to worry, today I'm going to be sharing with you my secret recipe. It's cheap and effective so look no further. Nothing is better than natural ingredients you can find in your kitchen right? With only 1 more week till I'm away to Hong Kong I'm determined to have acne free skin!!! I CAN DO IT!!

All you need really is green tea and lemon, were going to be making a toner that will brighten and lighten them scars as well as tighten pores and controlling oil production, keeping acne at bay. I'm going to be adding additional ingredient to enhance this toner to achieve maximum results. Natural ingredients is the way forward, my motto is "Whats good enough to eat, is safe enough to put on your face." But saying that I don't mean slap a steak on your face because it's good to eat. Although Korea has introduced many new unusual products to the market such as snail mucus, snake venom and placenta who knows steak may be the next one.

" I'll have a Aberdeen Angus please...... for my face!!"

Ok back to business, enough of the chit chat. Ingredients you will need is:
  • Lemon- contains natural AHA (Alpha- Hydroxy acid) which removes dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, improving skin tone by revealing brighter, plumper cells underneath. Also filled with vitamin C which encourages collagen production, reducing wrinkles.

  • Green tea- filled with anti oxidants, help soothe problematic skin

  • Dried Rose- is anti- inflammatory, can tighten pores, de-stressing

  • Brown Rice- softens and tone face

  • Cucumber- hydrating, soothes

,
To make this is very simple:.
  1. Place a green tea bag or leaves into a bowl.
  2. Add 1 dried rose and half a handful of brown rice to the bowl.
  3. Boil water and pour water into the bowl to brew the products (the amount of water is dependent on the size of your container for the storage of this toner).
  4. Whilst you wait, squeeze 1 whole lemon and an inch of a cucumber.
  5. Once the tea is cooled, mix with the lemon and cucumber juice.
  6. Place in the fridge over night.

Your toner is then ready to use. Use morning and night for 2 weeks straight to see result. Results should show after a couple of usage. Always keep the toner in the fridge this will prolong the product and ensures maximum effect of the toner.

After cleansing use a cotton pad with the toner and wipe over face, this can remove any excess dirt left from the cleanser and the remainders of the cleanser, then pour some into the palms of your hand and pat more on. If your scar is dark or if you have an existing pimple, soak a small cotton ball and place in the area for a few minutes. This is also a common techniques used by Asian women. They soak their toner or essence in cotton pads and place all over the face as a mask for maximum absorption. You can also get tablet mask which are plain compressed sheet mask which expand with the application of liquid, this can enhance the progress of lightening  acne scars :D Lemon can also cause the skin to be photo-sensitive so remember to wear sunscreen and for those with sensitive skin I advice you to use less concentrated lemon juice.

Sinful Colors Nail Polish

It's such a beautiful day today, I think spring/summer is actually arriving!! Felt like it would never arrive with the amount of rain and wind we've had in the UK! I popped into my local Boots today having heard their selling Sinful colors nail polishes. I was so excited when I got there with their vast range of nail polishes. They ACTUALLY have every colour under the sun!! Lots of them look like dupes for other more expensive nail polishes :D I feel like the packaging relate slightly to China Glaze and they were only £1.99!!!!!!

By looking at the packaging and colour texture the polish seems to be quite good quality! They don't have that weird unmixed tone to it also!! I was lucky to have got there quick as lots of their colours were selling out! Sinful Colors is a brand made in the USA and they have over 70 beautifulll colours to pick from! I ended up picking out 3 which only cost me £5.97 :O I would usually pay more than that for one.

The colours I picked were Glass Pink, Cinderella and Frenzy >.<

Cinderalla, Frenzy and Glass Pink

The first colour I was immediately drawn to was Frenzy. Frenzy is this amazing colour as can be seen in the picture with lots of blue and pinky/purple glitter particles. It's such a statement polish and they had one similar named 'I Miss You' which had more pink glitter particles to it. Was such a hard decidion deciding which disco polish I wanted!! Application was a bit difficult with this one, as with all glitter polishes. I applied in a dabbing motion to ensure that my nail was saturated in glitter and repeat 2 more time prior to that! The result is pretty impressive! Frenzy dries smooth unlike some other glitter polishes I've used and a top coat is optional as it has a smooth, shiny finish to it.

Frenzy

Glass pink is a gorgeous colour that caught my eyes. It just reminded me of candy!! In the bottle you can see a baby pink colour with many gold reflecting glitter that are very fine!! I was slightly disappointed though when I applied it, as it was quite sheer, the colour is very subtle and faint. I was imagining a pop of pink candy haha!! But after applying 3 coats it is the most gorgeous natural nude pink everrr! The fine gold reflecting particles are sooo small that I feel like I'm mesmerised by it. It's such a wearable colour and would go with anything. Perfect colour for the spring/ summer as well. I think glass pink really decribes the polish perfectly.

Glass Pink

The next colour I got was Cinderella! I Just thought "Ohh my god how cute will this one go with Glass Pink!!" I think this one has to be my favourite. It's this soft pastel blue with pinky/ gold reflecting particles. The particles in this is even finer than Glass Pink. It's as if the particles are infused within the polish. This polish really reminds me of blue coloured ice cream for some reason!!

Cinderella

Overall I feel these products are definitely value for money!! All 3 colours I picked up performed amazingly and I'll definitely go back to purchase a few more shades. The texture of Glass Pink and Cinderella are a bit watery, but that is normally the case with pastel nail polishes, after the second coat I was satisfied with the result. All 3 of the polishes leave a glossy finish with no need to apply an additional top coat.

* I will update this blog in next week to talk about durability so watch out for that :)

p.s Quickly rush to your local Boots, as these polishes are flying off the shelves!!
